Q. Where and when were you founded?
A. The Ilene King brand was founded in July 2014, getting our start as a handbag line that sold to local boutiques in SoCal.  Fueled by our love to create accessories and a short attention span, we constantly developed new products in small quantities.  We noticed that our customers and their clients responded favorably to an ever-changing product offering, so a year later we decided to introduce this concept to a wider audience.

Q. Where does the name Ilene King come from?
A. Our name is inspired by a member of our founding team, Laurie Ilene King, a devotee to the art of fine U.S. craftsmanship and the artisans who practice it. With her love of design and fine quality goods, she personally designs each item and over-sees the process from sampling to final production.

Q. What is the brand about?
A. Ilene King is a luxury brand of crafted handbags and accessories produced in the most well regarded specialty factories the US, introducing new styles in micro-runs (limited quantities). This offers you uniquely designed items that few others have. Ilene King is the combination of original, limited designs and quality craftsmanship.

Q. Where are the products made?
A. We source the best specialty factories across the U.S. for each type of accessory that we produce, seeking out specialists wherever they ply their craft. If you are a factory with a unique talent that you think we should consider, please contact us at support@ileneking.com

Q. What is your design philosophy?

A.  Above all, gorgeous products!  We love to design unique accessories as much as you love owning them, so be on the lookout for new styles to pop up regularly.

Q. What inspires you?
A. We are inspired by many things, and because we produce in mirco-runs, we have the ability to react quickly to what we see and fall in love with. We look everywhere for inspiration – from the fashion trends on the street to architectural details found during our travels. Our collaborative team works with our artisanal factories to turn the inspiration into beautiful products.

Q. How often do you release new accessories?
A. We are obsessed with accessories of all kinds and have a short attention span, so when we created Ilene King we set out to constantly offer something new. A season or a month is too long to wait; instead, we offer new pieces much more regularly.

Q. How does ‘handcrafted in the U.S.’ differ from ‘made in the U.S.’?
A. ‘Handcrafted’ means that a skilled and passionate person has physically had their hands on the product during much of it’s fabrication. This applies to most of our items. Our bags and many of our accessories are lovingly created by top artisans in the U.S., not just assembled here. They are conceived, designed, sourced, patterned, stitched, and finished stateside. In the case where it is not possible to handcraft the item, light machinery is used. Such is the case for some of our jewelry, where we want to maintain a consistent look and finish. All products are proudly made in the US.

Q. What materials are used?
A. We source our leathers from various sources to ensure the softness and durability you’d expect from a high quality bag or accessory. Our jewelry is nickel free, and typically gold or silver plated. Should this vary, it will be noted in the description.

Q. How should I care for my items?
A. Because our accessories are carefully crafted with the very best materials, they can last a long time with the proper care (and we think you’ll be surprised with how beautifully they age!). Because leather is an organic material, natural variation can be expected. Leather is a porous material that may absorb moisture, oils, or dyes, so should you choose to treat or clean your bag, please be sure to test on a hidden area first. We recommend professional cleaning when needed. Our jewelry is typically gold or silver plated, so a polishing cloth should be enough to return it to it’s original luster.

Q. What is your shipping policy?A. We offer free ground shipping on all U.S. orders and make it a priority to expedite the shipping process. Depending on what time you place your order, it could be sent out as soon as one business day. Generally, we ship to Alaska and Hawaii with Second Day Air (with a surcharge), but we don’t currently offer ground shipping to these destinations. Q. How can I cancel my order?
A. Because we process orders quickly, it is not always possible to cancel your order before it goes out. However, U.S. shipping and returns are free, and we will make it simple and easy for you to get exactly what you want. For more information, see our Terms and Conditions.

Q. Do you ship outside the U.S.?
A. Yes.  Shipping charges vary depending on where we are shipping overseas.

Q. How soon will my order?
A. We know (and love) that you can’t wait to get your Ilene King accessory. During the ordering process, we will inform you of the estimated time required for delivery, as well as the various forms of delivery available. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more details.

Q. Can I get my items shipped any faster?
A. Patience was never a virtue for us, either. If you’d like to get your order shipped faster, just select “express shipping” at checkout.

Q. What is the return policy?
A. We want you to love every single Ilene King purchase, so we offer free returns to make things as easy as possible. You have 7 days from the date of delivery to return anything that’s not exactly what you were looking for. For more information, please see our Terms and Conditions.

Q. How do I return my Ilene King accessory?
A. Just visit your Ilene King account and provide your reason for return, re-box your item, and use the pre-paid shipping label that we’ve included.

Q. Help, I lost my label!
A. Not to worry. We are happy to supply a new label for you. Just drop us a line at support@ileneking.com

Q. When can I expect my refund?
A. After your item is received and inspected, your refund will be processed and a credit will be automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Depending on your credit card company, it may take an additional 2-10 business days after your credit is applied to post to your account. If you provided your email address, we will keep you informed of when we receive and process your return. Of course, please feel free to call if you have any questions. A. Yes, please see our return policy for details.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, and Ilene King gift cards as payment.

Q. Why am I being charged tax?
A. Ilene King collects sales taxes where required by law. In instances where Ilene King is not required to collect taxes, clients are responsible for determining and paying sales taxes on their own. Each state’s tax laws specify what purchases are subject to sales tax. For more information please refer to our Tax Policy.

Q. The accessory I want is sold out! How did that happen?
A. As accessory lovers ourselves and someone who understands the value of the perfect outfit, we feel for you. Since we specialize in micro-runs that risk is great. The best way to get what you want if it’s sold out is to get on that item’s wait list.

Q. Can you help with a sold out item?
A. We always want to do our best to help, so please reach out to us at support@ileneking.com. While we might not be able to help with a sold out item, we can notify you if we release something in a similar design, or the accessory you want is in a new color or fabrication. We can also put you on the waitlist for the accessory you want to help make sure you’re notified first if it becomes available.

Q. What is the Wait List?
A.  The wait list is the best possible way to obtain a sold out item. Once in a while a bag or accessory does not find the right home and is returned for one reason or another. After it has been painstakingly checked over, it is made available again and we want someone else’s loss to be your gain. It’s easy; we just need an email address so we can contact you. You will be personally notified as soon as it becomes available, giving you first-hand access to purchase the accessory you missed.

Q. What is the benefit of registering?
A. Registering at Ilene King is as simple as providing your email and picking a password, and it allows you to find out first about everything that’s happening here. In addition to a speedier checkout process, it also allows you to get on our wait lis,t so we can notify you if we something you loved that was out of stock is now available.

Q. Why can’t I login?

Q. I can’t seem to remember my password, is there anything you can do?
A. It happens to all of us. You can reset your password by going to Account. When prompted to sign in, select “forgot your password” to continue. Should you still need assistance, please email us at support@ileneking.com

Q. Why am I not receiving emails?
A. We’re thrilled that you want to receive them, and less than thrilled that something’s amiss… It’s possible that they are going to your ‘junk’ folder or your email carrier isn’t recognizing our address, so it may be as simple as adding us to your address book. Q. How can I stop receiving emails?
A. Are you mental?? Just kidding. We get it… tons of emails are a royal pain. You can just click the “Unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any Ilene King email and they will magically disappear…

Q. Can I purchase as a gift?
A. We happen to think accessories make amazing gifts! Our signed Ilene King dust covers make for a beautiful presentation, and it’s simple to fill out a gift message when you check out. Returns? No worries, they are simple.

Q. Do you offer gift cards?
A. We offer Ilene King gift cards in any denomination between $10 and $2,000. They look beautiful and make for very happy giftees.

Q. How do I redeem my gift card?
A. Got an Ilene King gift card? Lucky you. It’s easy to redeem and start shopping. Simply visit Account/Gift Card to redeem an online or in-hand gift card and pick out something you love.
